After 8 Mint Chocolate Smoothies/Milkshakes!

So, quick sidenote... Matthew doesn't have grey hair! haha... the light was shining on it so it made it have a little silver sheen haha! Well, at least this might prove to him that I have won our debate... he always thinks his hair is brown (very very dark brown) but it is black! So hopefully this will prove to him there are NO brown tints in his beautiful hair haha ;) Anywayyyy... on Sunday (yesterday) we had a go at using one of my Christmas presents my dad chose for me... a smoothie maker! We ended up having a couple of go's to find a good one, but I really enjoyed the final one so I thought I'd share how we made them!

We started out by trying a peach (didn't have apricots), honey, yoghurt and banana recipe... but it turned out to taste really nasty! I was all disappointed haha, so I sat on the sofa sulking while Matthew racked his brains and invented a much better one! He said it was an invention by "both of us" but I'd better give him the credit where it's due haha...

He decided to make a smoothie using After 8 mints (not the healthiest of choices) and they sure were yummy!! We only really used things that were hanging around in the fridge, so I'm sure there are much better ways of doing this (one of which might be to use full fat milk to make it a lot more creamy?) but here is what we used anyway...

  • 3/4 heaped teaspoons of drinking chocolate
  • half a smoothie cup of milk (not quite sure how much exactly, maybe just less than a pint?)
  • 6/7 After Eight Mints

As you can see we didn't make too much as there was only two of us, but that's the ratios we used so if you wanted to double it I'm sure it'd turn out the same :) And, as I said I'm sure there's much more technical, better ingredients to use... but for a make-shift, thrown together chocolate smoothie... I loved it! :)
